This is a troubleshooting guide for an issue with title block model attributes in Fusion 360 drawings that display as dashes (e.g. -----), that appeared after the Fusion 360 May 2023 release. This is not a Bommer bug, but rather an issue with the Fusion 360 drawings environment. Please read on to learn more.
Issue
You have a custom title block that includes model attributes in the block or on the drawing sheet, and those attributes are showing up as dashes when you open your drawing:
Solution
This can occur when you use special characters like the double-quote character " in your Fusion 360 built-in model attributes such as Part Name, Part Number, Description, Material Name, etc. In the above case, the Block's Description was 1x1". To fix, you can remove the double quote character, save the design, and then click the Get Latest button inside your drawing; once it finishes updating, your attributes should display as expected:
Explanation
The Fusion 360 May 2023 release included many improvements to the Drawings workspace, but also appears to have introduced a regression in what characters are allowable within the model attributes that can be added to your title block or drawing sheet. The above issue and fix was observed with double-quote characters but there may be additional characters that also cause this problem. If you are running into this issue but have confirmed that you do not have any double quotes in any of your model attribute fields, try removing other similar special characters to see if that fixes it.
