Our Winter 2023/2024 release! This release is all about stability and performance, but with a couple of new goodies thrown in as well.
Note that because of the nature of this release, the upgrade procedure is a little bit more involved than usual. The upgrade is performed via an external app (which is launched for you when you press Update) and will require you to close and reopen SOLIDWORKS. If you run into any issues or would like help upgrading, please don't hesitate to contact us at support@bommer.io.
Enjoy, and Happy New Year! :)
NEW:
- Support for configuration-specific cut list properties.
- Added Sort Order Item Number built-in property, to generate a sequential item number that conforms to the sorted order of the table.
- Added Assembly Quantity built-in property which computes the quantity of each subcomponent within the assembly instead of the quantity within its immediate parent.
- Added BOM Quantity Property built-in property to report the custom property that is selected in the component's BOM Quantity field (in SOLIDWORKS's Properties dialog).
CHANGED/FIXED:
- Major changes to under the hood architecture to solve a couple of uncommon but highly disruptive crashes and errors. Running Bommer inside SOLIDWORKS should be a lot more stable now.
- Improved plugin startup time by > 50%.
- Changed single-item cut list parts to always use the part description instead of the cut list description.
- Removed functionality to automatically annotate the "expand" column in the table with the Bommer item number. Instead, to use item number, ensure it is included in your view.
- Fixed annoying crashes when using "Highlight in BOM" from within a part file, or when opening and closing files while Bommer is still loading.
- Fixed an issue where SOLIDWORKS property manager dialogs would sometimes automatically close while you're editing them, when Bommer is running.
- Fixed an issue where, if you have a template open in Excel, you cannot export to it. Now you can!
