All of the editing operations described here work on the selected cells, and Bommer supports several ways to select the cells you want to edit. Note that these operations require the table to be focused; to focus the table, click into it with your mouse.
To select cells in the table, you can:
- Use the arrow keys to move the currently selected cell.
- Use the mouse to click into a cell to select it.
- Use the mouse to drag to select multiple cells.
- Hold the Shift key and use the arrow keys to extend the selection across multiple cells
- Hold the Control key and click on the cells you want to add to the selection
- Press Ctrl-Space to select the column of cells, starting from the current cell. Press Ctrl-Space again to select the entire column starting from the top row.
- Press Shift-Space to select the row of cells, starting from the current cell. Press Shift-Space again to select the entire row starting from the first column
- Press Ctrl-A to select all visible cells in the table.
- The previous methods select visible cells, and ignore cells that are hidden (e.g. because a hierarchical row is not expanded). To select all hidden cells within a selection, press Ctrl-Shift-Space. When hidden cells are selected, the bottom border of the last visible cell before the hidden cells will be pronounced.
- Press Alt-Ctrl-Shift-O to select all occurrences of the value in the current cell in that column. (you can use this to quickly replace one value with another in a given property). This will select cells in unexpanded/hidden rows as well.
Once you have a group of cells selected, you can edit, delete, cut, paste, or perform other operations on the data contained within the selected cells.
