Bommer can support inserting your BOM data into your drawings in a couple of ways. The first way is, since we expose built-in properties for Fusion 360 properties, any changes made to those properties through Bommer will flow through to the corresponding columns on your drawing parts list. The built-in parts list can be limiting, both in terms of the columns you have access to and the rows Fusion lets you display in this table. To overcome these limitations, Bommer also includes a command to generate a table that contains any combination of Bommer properties as columns, and any selected subset of components as rows, to be inserted on to your drawing sheets.
Bommer drawing table limitations
Fusion 360 does not let add-ins directly interact with drawings; in software lingo, it is missing a drawing "API". Fusion 360 does, however, let users insert an image into the drawing. Bommer, therefore, generates a high-resolution table image that contains a parts list and then makes it easy to insert that directly onto your drawing. This table image can be scaled, moved, and otherwise treated like any other object on your drawings, but it is static (not updated automatically when your component data is updated) and the item numbers are not automatically linked to balloon numbers on your drawing view.
