Bommer’s Edit bill of materials screen lets you save your BOM filter so you can use it the next time you run this command. You can also load the saved filter into the Export command to filter you BOM on export. Use this capability to set up specific cross-sections of your BOM data that you need to view or edit, or configure the filter to visualize exactly the rows you need to export before you run the export process. Read on to learn how to use saved filters in the Edit bill of materials command.
Saving your bill of materials filter
Read here for more information on setting up bill of materials filters. Once you have set up a filter, you can press the Save icon on the right side of the filter bar to save this filter to your local settings.
The icon will turn green indicating your filter has been saved, and you can safely exit the Edit bill of materials screen by pressing OK (if you have bill of materials edits to save or Cancel (if you do not).
Using a saved filter
Using a saved filter works similarly to if you are in the Edit bill of materials screen and have added a filter, only the saved filter will be available for use immediately after opening the Edit bill of materials command. To activate the saved filter, click on the filter icon at the top left of the table:
This will show the filter row and activate the saved filter. To deactivate the filter without clearing it, click on the filter button again to hide the filter row. This is the same as if you have an filter set up in the table that is not saved.
Deleting your saved filter
To delete your saved filter, press the Clear Filter button on the left side of the filter bar:
Then press the save button. Saving an empty filter is the same as deleting the saved filter.
