As of the February 2026 patch Bommer for Autodesk Fusion now supports data importing into your bill of materials. Making it easy to bring external data into your Bommer bill of materials with just a few clicks. Read on to find out more…
Saving your file
Before an export template can be made you will have to save your file so Fusion has a version of this that will not change its component ID. This will allow you to export a Bommer BOM Template that can then be modified and imported.
Creating the import template
Before you can import your data into Bommer you have to prepare the import template. This is the vehicle through which your external data gets read into the right properties within Bommer.
Creating the Component ID property
To make sure the data is properly inserted into Bommer for Fusion you need a special built in property in your BOM called Component ID. You can find more information on how to create custom properties in the settings menu here.
Once this property is created, press OK and you should be able to see it in your edit bill of materials table.
Exporting the BOM template
Once you have your component property now you have to export your bill of materials as normal. For this process only export the properties you want to make changes to. The important items here are the component IDs and the properties which will be the headers in the excel export.
