Issue
Bommer is installed but is missing from the Fusion 360 user interface, or missing from the Add-ins listing altogether.
Solution
There are a handful of reasons why Bommer may not show up in Fusion 360. These options are presented in the order of things to check/troubleshoot while trying to resolve this issue.
Bommer was working before restarting Fusion 360
If Bommer was visible and working right before Fusion 360 was restarted, try to disable "Run on Startup". To do this:
- Open the Add-Ins command by clicking Utilities in the Design workspace, then click Add-Ins.
- Once that command opens, click Add-Ins at the top of the dialog, then find Bommer in the list.
- Select Bommer, and uncheck "Run on Startup"
- Close this dialog, and restart Fusion 360.
- Repeat steps 1 and 2 to open the Add-Ins command.
- Select Bommer, and click "Run".
Bommer should run after a few seconds. If it does not, Bommer may need to be reinstalled from the original installer. Remember to uninstall Bommer first to avoid any potential issues when installing on top of an existing installation (click here to read more).
Bommer is was previously installed but now isn't visible in Fusion 360
If you have installed or re-installed Bommer and can't see it in the add-ins tab, it may have been removed previously. First, let's confirm this is the case:
Open the Add-Ins command by clicking Utilities in the Design workspace, then click Add-Ins.
Windows
What you find in this directory should look like this:
Rename or delete JSLoadedScriptsinfo
To restore Bommer, you can rename (recommended) or delete the JSLoadesScriptsinfo file and restart Fusion 360. This file contains data for add-ins that have been removed or switched to manual startup (instead of Run on Startup). If you have configured a lot of add-ins, please be aware that renaming or deleting this file may reset some of that configuration. If you choose to delete the file, we recommend you make a backup just in case you need to restore it.
Edit JSLoadedScriptsinfo
If you have configured a lot of add-ins, or if renaming or deleting this file causes unintended consequences, you can open the file and edit just the Bommer record to restore Bommer in Fusion 360.
Warning: This process is somewhat advanced, and assumes knowledge of editing JSON formatted data stored in text files. We recommend that you back up the file before editing. If you are uncomfortable performing these steps, please contact us.
To restore Bommer by editing the file:
- Open the file JSLoadedScriptsinfo file with your preferred text editor and once inside find the particular section {"name":"Bommer"
- Within that section, locate the attribute "isRemoved" and change the value to false. Afterward, it should look like "isRemoved":false
- (Optional) If you want Bommer to run on startup, locate the attribute "runOnStart" in that same section, and change the value to true. Afterward, it should look like "runOnStartup":true
- After these have been changed to match what is above save the file and restart Fusion 360.
This should solve the issue! If you are still having problems then please contact us and we will get you squared away!
Bommer installed properly and was never previously removed
First, you will have to navigate to a specific folder located on your computer;
Windows: C:\Users\[Your User]\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins
Mac (Downloaded Fusion from Apple App Store): /Users/<your user>/Library/Containers/com.autodesk.mas.fusion360/Data/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/ApplicationPlugins
Mac (Downloaded Fusion from Apple App Store):/Users/<your user>/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/ApplicationPlugins
Once there verify that there is a folder called Bommer.bundle there. This means that the software has been installed but has not been added to Fusion 360.
To manually add this to Fusion 360, open the Add-Ins dialog (in Utilities, click Add-Ins, then select Add-Ins at the top of that dialog). Then, click on the green plus sign next to My Add-ins in the Scripts and Add-ins window
Once there navigate to the folder specified above. Double click on Bommer.bundle: on Mac, this will select it for use, and on Windows you will need to click the Open button at the bottom of that window.
